The Draft Physical Development Plan 2023 is now available online and we are inviting people to join the conversation and give us their views on the Draft Plan. We encourage members of the public, businesses, resident associations, community organisations etc. to comment on the Draft Plan. The consultation phase has now commenced and will run for a minimum of 28 days from the date of publication of the notice in the Official Gazette.

The Draft Plan sets out the government's vision for developing Barbados and provides a spatial framework to help deliver the government's mandate. A review of the Physical Development Plan Amended 2003 was completed in 2017 and produced a Draft Physical Development Plan Amended 2017 (Draft PDP Amended 2017). In the intervening period, several circumstances and events have occurred that necessitate the review and targeted update of the Draft PDP Amended 2017 to ensure its currency and applicability to changed circumstances in Barbados. The Draft Physical Development Plan (Amended 2023) embodies further changes to the draft document that was made available to the public as a 2017 amendment.

Any objection or representation may be sent in writing to the Director of Planning and Development by e-mail at PDP2023@planning.gov.bb or delivered to the Planning and Development Department, Warrens Office Complex, Warrens BB12001 on or before Friday 15th September 2023. Any such objection or representation should state the grounds on which it is made, and where the objection or representation relates to a specific area of land, should identify the land to which it relates.
